saturday

Happy Saturday everyone! I came home this morning from visiting my friend, Jodi, and Chad had dressed Greta in this cute little dress today. We went out to dinner tonight with Greta and her friend, Harper, and her parents. It's funny that once you have kids your evenings out look a little different. I think we were home by 6:30pm. The girls did great. It was the first time for both of them sitting in a high chair at a restaurant. It was a success!
Harper is so sweet and they really enjoy eachother.

Daddy's girl
Greta was a little shy with me when I came home today. This is the second time I've left her overnight and both times she's seemed a little shy with me when she first sees me again. I think we'll get reaquainted quickly. Especially with how often she's been getting up at night lately?!?!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

34 weeks

Greta turned 34 weeks today. She was fussier than normal last night and sure enough this morning I noticed two little white buds popping out of her gums. Two teeth are just starting to emerge on the bottom.

Playing in the leaves today. I love this smile!
Here's her fake smile:)
She's so interested in the leaves and their crispy texture.
Why not see what they taste like?
Greta's also started doing something else cute. She will lean down and cock her head to the side when she is trying to look at something. It's so funny. She started doing this at our baby classes. I tried to snap a picture of her doing it today.
Sometimes she will lean way down and look.
We gave Greta a sippy cup for the first time tonight to try.
She was very excited about the sippy cup but didn't really know what to do with it.

Getting better.
We've also started feeding solids again.
She has a lot more interest than when we introduced solids at 6 months.

Everything sure changes quick in the life of this little girl!

como zoo

Greta and I had another wonderful day today. She is such a happy, easygoing baby. I recently joined a group (yes- another group!) of moms in my area that have children of varying ages. One of the moms is in our baby storytime class and told me about the group. The group has a full calendar of fun activities for kids of all ages. One of the group activities on today's calendar was a trip to Como Zoo.

Here's Greta ready for the zoo!
Our little Cinderella

Zebras!
I love Greta's smiles and laughs she shows me when I'm pushing her in the stroller. She is so happy.

Our group of kids at the zoo today
After our trip to the zoo, we went to our usual afternoon Monday class. Greta was so exhaused from the zoo that she slept the whole way in the car to our next class. She woke up happy and rested. After class, we both took a little snooze and then had an evening music class at the library. Chad was able to come with us to the class which is always fun. I remember when I first took Greta to these music classes at the library was this summer and she couldn't even sit up by herself. Now she's sitting like a big girl and is holding the different music instruments. She loves to look at the big kids in the class and just analyze their every move. You just wonder what she is thinking. I think we've started the week off to a good start!

enjoying fall

Greta and I had another fun but busy day today. We had baby storytime at the library this morning and then Greta took a long nap when we got home. When she woke up my friend, Nicole, called to see if we wanted to meet for a late lunch so we met her at Pittsuburgh Blue. Greta does so well at restaurants. I hope this never changes as I do enjoy my lunch outings with friends. After lunch we rushed back to the house so Greta could take another nap before our evening baby class. The class starts at 6pm and this can be a fussy time for Greta if she hasn't napped well throughout the day. I've found that a nice late nap on Tuesdays works good for her so she has energy for the class. She did great today.

Here's Greta playing quietly by herself. She loves books and was especially interested in the Brown Bear book today.

In the past week, Greta has started picking up a toy in each hand and banging them together. I pulled out some stacking cubes that we had gotten from grandma and she just loves them. Sometimes it's the simplest toys that entertain her best. Here she is at class making some music of her own banging these toys together. The class is for babies from birth to 8 months. I think Greta is the oldest baby in the class and all the parents are impressed with her ability to sit up so well. It's amazing how fast they race through the milestones at this age. Just a month age difference is so big.
Singing songs and playing with the parachute during circle time.
Just a warning- there are a lot of pictures ahead. Greta got this adorable shirt from Cathy yesterday when we met at the MOA. It's a bigger size so I had Greta wear it as a dress and put some black ribbed tights with it. We snapped these pictures today after baby storytime in the nice fall leaves in our yard.

The one semi-smile I could sneak a picture of.

The wind would blow and it was so funny to watch her expression as she felt it blow against her.

Little girl in the leaves.

Once she discovered the leaves they promptly went in her mouth.

I can't believe this beautiful weather we've been having. I just love Minnesota this time of year.

MOA day

Greta and I went to the Mall of America today to meet my friend, Cathy, for lunch at the Twin City Grill. Cathy and I used to work together at Kinko's almost ten years ago and have stayed friends every since. Here's Cathy meeting for Greta the first time at the hospital the day after she was born. Greta admiring Cathy's bracelet.
Greta and Mommy
After lunch, Greta enjoyed walking around the mall.

Greta loves to chew on her Sophie the giraffe teether but she's also started throwing things over the side of her carseat. I solved that today by putting a little lasso around Sophie's neck so we could reign in Sophie and keep her off the germy mall floor.

Greta just started waving a few days ago. These pictures are bad but you can kind of see her waving.

The elephant at the Rainforest Cafe.
It was a fun day at the MOA. I guess I'll be back there Wednesday since I won tickets to a meet and greet with Jenny McCarthy. She'll be in town for a book signing.
