Last week, Greta and I made a another trip to the Mall of American to meet 3 girlfriends from high school and their daughters. We all had lunch at the American Girl Bistro and had the best time! There were 6 girls and they each had their own American Girl doll. The restaurant offers loaner dolls if you don't have your own.
Greta with her "loaner" American Girl. You get a little cup and saucer to feed your doll. They have cute little hook-on high chairs for the dolls.
Greta had her arm around her American Girl when she first met her. She also loved her hair and kept touching it.

Greta has been doing a lot of pretend play lately with her baby and this trip to the American Girl Cafe was perfect for her. I don't think she knew what to think seeing all those girls with the dolls at the table and then having her own special doll. She still gave her little Target baby lots of love too. We had a great time!
After lunch, we went down to the American Girl store. Greta especially liked this doll stroller and put her baby in there with the American Girl Bitty Baby. She was crusing around the store so fast. She could definitely walk on her own if she wasn't such a chicken.

In addition to pretending to feed her babies, change their diaper, and wrap them in blankets, Greta has also started pretending she's talking on the phone. She'll hold anything up to her ear- her hand, a metal juice lid, or an actual cell phone- and pretend she's talking to someone. It's funny to see her mimic how she sees us talk on the phone. She'll say uh huh, what, hmm, ok, hi, bye, while talking on the phone. She'll sometimes bat her eyelashes too which just kills me. Here's a few pictures of Greta pretending she's talking on the phone while we wait for our friends to arrive for a playdate at the library.
